You Know You're in Africa When...
Our internet has not been too friendly to us lately...if you've tried to have conversations with me in the last two weeks you know what I'm talking about. It was very frustrating. But supposedly today we got it fixed. We'll see how that pans out over the next few days and you'll understand why when you read this story. Today I had the thought...you know you're in Africa when...and I have two things to complete that sentence...one, when you call someone to get a technician out and they tell you when he's going to be here and you expect it to not happen and then are surprised when they are early! Yes, the tech did come out today after we called yesterday and they were early. No we'll be there between this time and this time but we'll be there at such a time. And he was early...the only unfortunate thing was I was still in bed after waking in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to bed until 6 am. And the other is when the tech comes and sits in a chair and just moves the modem around to see if he can get a stronger signal. Nope he really didn't do anything we haven't tried except turn the modem to face the other way. Surprisingly the internet has been working much better, but then again it started to work much better this morning before the guy came. We'll see if it lasts. Oh and by the way, if you are in China and you need to connect from here we have a cord that I believe will reach you. I think this cord will reach to kingdom come. It's long enough so that if we need to we can take the modem into the kitchen and face it out that window since the attenae is out that way and still sit in the living room connected to the net. Oh you should definitely see it. We can now connect from the living room and sit outside on the porch if the weather is nice. It's absolutely crazy. Anyone need to connect from Tanzania? I think I have a cord for you!
