Honorary (or is it ornery?) Scotsman

Last night I experienced my first ever Scottish kaylee (spelling? we're unsure of). It was great! We learned a few dances, got some exercise and spent some great time with some great people. Oh and of course we had some awesome food. Little sausages, great chicken, chips and wonderful chocolate desserts. And people thought that I would struggle with the food...that's crazy. So we learned 4 dances I think. I only danced 3 of them. But I got some pictures and watched the chaos because basically that is what it was...chaos. All these Americans and Brits trying to dance Scottish, learning from the lone Scotsman and his wife, it was pretty funny if you ask me. And there were definite times of us just going around in circles because we couldn't understand what we were suppose to do exactly. We did have a great time though! And we got to hear the Scotsman play the bagpipes. It was awesome! He played a Farewell to Laura Lee, for that's why we had the kaylee, a send off even though she still has a month left. It sounded a bit like Amazing Grace though...haha.

Believe it or not, the spelling is ceilidh. I think those Scots just do it to confuse the rest of us. But we love them all the same. If you'd like to continue practising the dancing around your kitchen you can download some samples here: www.roddythepiper.com
